"Art by Animals" Auction

You can bid on a painting created by Asha, one of the Zoo's Asian elephants!

On Tuesday, September 16, the Auction Network is broadcasting the first "Art by Animals" auction live over the Internet. The program begins with a pre-auction show at 3 p.m., and the auction will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The "Art by Animals" Auction features artwork submitted by 61 famous animal artists who are residents of institutions accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each piece of art will be introduced by a representative of the participating instiution. Proceeds from each winning bid will be returned to the participating zoo or aquarium for support of their individual conservation efforts. Be sure to look for Asha's artwork, which is #44 in the auction.

The program will be hosted by Auction Network's Tava Smiley and by special guest Nigel Marven, with appearances by animals from the Milwaukee County Zoo. Anyone throughout the world with an Internet connection will be able to view the program and bid on a favorite piece of animal art.
